Ugh. I finally sent off the proceedings. I had been working on adjusting the figures for what seems like forever. I don’t want to think about it any longer! Now it is time for sleep.

Dictionnaire française en ligne
J’ai trouvé une dictionnaire française en ligne. C’était mon colleague qui me l’a montré.
C’est la dictionnaire du mediadico. Ça marche bien et incluse aussi la fonction de faire conjugaison, de trouver les synonmes, et pour traduire anglais-français. Chouette.
Avec le motor de traduction Google (qui est meilleur que les autre, mais encore hyper mal de faire traduction japonais-anglais) ils sont très utilisant.

今夜はヨガ教室のディナーだった。フランス人だけじゃなくカナダ人もイギリス人もアメリカ人もいった。
初めて会ったフランス人に「イギリス人ですか」と聞かれ、初めて会った英語系の人に「カナダ人ですか」などと聞かれた。アメリカ人なのに。もう僕の母国語のアクセントもなくなったのかと言う感じだった。そう言えばそうだ。少し考えたら、もう数年前から英語が第二言語の人と付き合ってると気づいた。それに従ってなまりが変わっただろう。

Wow. I’m shocked. I honestly don’t believe that it could possibly go lower than 30%, which is still within the margin of error for the poll.

In the article I found something funny:

Clinton was impeached and his approval rating was still 65%! Hmm…
My wife wasn’t impressed with Bush’s low approval rating, however. She informed me that prime minister Mori (the predecessor of Koizumi) had an approval rating of as low as 9%!
Anyways, here are some words of encouragement: Atta boy, Bush! Don’t worry, you only have to compete with American presidents. Keep it up and you’ll top Nixon in no time!
Bears in the Superbowl?!
Wow. The Bears won the NFC championship. I haven’t really followed football since I was a much younger, so I was surprised to see how well they had done this season. Since they’ll be going to the superbowl, maybe I should watch it. Now, however, the question is whether or there will be some place where I can go watch it in Paris…
Cimetière Père Lachaise
The weather was good for most of today and we decided to take advantage of it by going somewhere outdoors. Of course as luck would have it, it turned gray as soon as we went outside and later rained a bit. Still, for the most part it stayed unseasonably pleasant for a winter day in Paris.
Anyways, we finally went to cimetière Père Lachaise, famous resting place of Jim Morrison.

My wife joked at how macabre it is for me to take her on a date to a graveyard. However it does seem to be a popular spot for tourists, understandable given all the notables interred. There were even maps sold at the entrance.
Instead of getting a map of the cemetery, with a guide to all the “famous” tombs, we just took a digital photo of the large map posted at the entrance; it had all the graves marked. Our camera was good enough resolution for us to use it as a map.
Some of the people we visited: Chopin, Delacroix, Molière, Jim Morrison, Pissarro, and Oscar Wilde.
唾がたまっていた
今夜久しぶりにお寿司を食べに行った。「喜楽亭」というレストランで食べてきた。お寿司が好きだけどパリでいい寿司屋さんが見つかられない同僚に招待した。同僚と彼の彼女と妻と一緒にいいお寿司を食べた。
今日はお寿司を食べることを考える度に唾がたまっていった(フランス語でj’en ai l’eau à la bouche)。一日中だ。今でも。日本に帰ったらいっぱいお寿司が食べられるから楽しみにしています。
二十回目の優勝だ！

〈朝青龍の話〉（２０度目の優勝は）数字がいいですね。今日の相撲内容は良くなかった。勝てば優勝だったので、自然と硬くなってしまった。これからも思い切ってやるしかないし、優勝回数を増やしていきたい。
英訳: “[Twenty championships] is a good number. My sumo today wasn’t so good. I naturally became tense since a win today meant being the champion. I’ve got to keep putting forth my best effort. I’d like to keep on increasing the number of my championship titles.”
