As usual, things don’t “work” the same way one would expect in the U.S. or Japan. Last week we made an online order of a few books from Amazon.fr. The books were shipped earlier than expected, which was great. However when they arrived a few days ago, the box apparently already had been opened and was left in the “courrier volumineux” mailbox. Our apartment has a guardienne and she alerted us when she discovered our parcel. Fortunately all of the books that we ordered were still in the box.
This kind of thing is almost what one comes to expect here. We tend to laugh off things like this. Still it is why I must keep asking people if they’ve received the mail that I had sent them last month (actually I should do that more often)…
