How do people live in this country? France is certainly a first world country but many of its institutions at times often seem to function at third world levels. For example the French postal system. My wife’s grandmother just received a return piece of mail that she had sent to us in November. Certainly these things happen from time to time in the U.S. as well. However, the frequency at which they happen in France seems to be an order of magnitude or two higher. And then when things don’t work, people throw up their hands. Que vous vouliez?
